Card of the Week: Whale in a Bottle

I still haven’t made any Easter cards yet. Or Mothering Sunday ones, for that matter. I should probably get on that, given that we’ve only a few days, and a couple of weeks, for one and then the other.

In the meantime, though, I’ve been playing with the Lisa Norton Message in a Bottle stamp set which came with Creative Stamping 95. I even used one of the projects (designed by Ruth Hamilton) for inspiration. Not quite the same: I don’t have much in the way of baker’s twine in my craft room, or Aqua Flow markers.

Instead, I dug a sea-weed washi tape from the stash, and blended light blue ink across the background. And used blue card instead of grey, which is another colour sadly lacking from my card collection.

And then I forgot to sprinkle gems. Can’t think how I managed that. Never mind; not every card needs a bit of sparkle. I suppose.

Although there is a bit of glitter on the whale, which (you can’t see) I brushed over with an opalescent Aqua Shimmer pen.

And now I’d better get on with the slightly more pressing cards to make…
