Ah, well, the letter-inspiration thing was good while it lasted. I think C is for Christmas is a bit of a cop-out, don’t you? Maybe I’ll have a better C next week.
But, as part of that other idea of getting Christmas cards made well ahead of time, and of using the stamp sets I picked up after I’d finished making last year’s festive cards, perhaps I’ll manage a C is for Christmas card every other week. Let’s see how long that idea lasts!
In the meantime, I had a play with the Polkadoodles Christmas Gnomes stamp set and paper pack from Creative Stamping 102. And the lovely new set of colouring pencils I was given for Christmas.
The only tricky bit was cutting out the inside bits with a craft knife – which I reclaimed from M’s model-box. But at least I managed not to cut myself. Or cut the bell off the end of the gnome’s hat, which I thought I might at one point.
No, I lie. The other tricky bit (well, not exactly tricky: annoying) was in working out the sandwich for my Gemini for the circle. Normally, I use my mini Sew Crafty die-cutter, which is straightforward and has only two thicknesses of plate. Unfortunately, the circle die is too big for that one, so I had to use the Gemini. And it took me three attempts to build up the sandwich to actually cut the circle. Maybe one day I’ll work out Gemini’s secrets without having to try different combinations first.
