Deck the Halls

Having dug out the festive paper-packs from several years ago, it seemed a good idea to have a look at all the dies and stamps from around the same time. It’s very easy, in the first flush of a new hobby and when confronted with the after-Christmas sales, to get a bit carried away with collecting supplies.

The trickier thing is to use them, especially when crafting space at the time was limited, and since then I’ve collected more festive supplies, which only serve to push the originals further down the list of likely candidates.

I thought I’d start small, and simple, with a bauble die cut in silver mirror card. And then, having cut out two, I decided that what I needed was a third, but in gold. The other thing that helped with this was the Cuttlebug, which I find far easier to use than my Gemini. Partly this is because I don’t have to organise any cables. The Cuttlebug just needs loading up with plates and it’s good to go.

Which made this a very straightforward sort of card, once I’d worked out that the die was best cut upwards. Even before that, it still cut, it just needed a second go through.

And then the sentiment came from the Creative Stamping 100 set from Crafter’s Companion, with a little sprinkle of red gems. Got to have some sparkle on a Christmas card.
