I seem to be on a roll with making Christmas cards at the moment. (Famous last words: I’ll probably run out of inspiration or motivation now and give up until the end of November.)
Or perhaps it’s just that I seem to have collected quite a few festive embossing folders, despite not being able to get my Gemini to emboss properly, and am having fun playing with them now that I have a machine which can manage them without problem. It does make such a difference having a machine I get along with!
My next step is going to be learning all the fun-looking embossing techniques with inks and other things which I see demonstrated in the magazines.
I was aiming for a white card, and I might yet make an all-white variation, but I changed my mind at the last minute and die-cut a snowflake in silver mirror card instead.
The snowflake folder was from Hobbycraft; the die a two-part set from the Sophisticated Snowflakes stamp and die set by Chloe’s Creative Cards from Simply Cards and Papercraft 225. I don’t think I’ve actually used much of the set since I got it back at Christmas. Will have to rectify that.
Anyway, it still needs a sentiment, which I expect I’ll take from that set. Although, looking again, there’s no reason why this HAS to be a Christmas card: it could just as easily be for a winter birthday.
