Last year, it occurred to me that my Advent calendar doesn’t take into account that, sometimes, Advent begins in November, like it did then. I used mini stockings as make-shift counters, but they didn’t quite fit with the rest of the calendar. And they weighed the ribbon down, since I filled them with Lindt truffles. Until I ate the truffles, that is.
This year, I thought to rectify that by stitching up another three Mouseloft kits, to account for the First Sunday of Advent being the 28th November. I think the earliest it can start is the 27th, but I’ll worry about that when I need more than an additional three images. Probably next year, when Christmas is a Sunday so it starts on the 27th. Next-year-me’s problem.

In the meantime, I have these three new Mouseloft kits, ready to stitch, back, and add to the calendar. Fortunately, Mouseloft kits don’t tend to take more than an evening to stitch: I think it’ll take me longer to rummage through my fabric chest to find backing fabric than!
I’m not sure yet whether these will start or end the countdown. I shan’t number them: they shall be the Advent Calendar Wild Cards. Perhaps they’ll just randomly turn up in the middle and throw all the counting off.
