Card of the Week: The Crafter’s Card

My card of this week is a more recent make, though with a stamp set I’ve had since Christmas and which I rushed out on Christmas Eve to find the magazine.

It was also my first attempt at masking in general, and with a post-it in particular. The stamp set (Crafter’s Companion’s Crafting with Friends set) and the design idea came from Creative Stamping 91. The demonstration idea, though, used the coffee mug.

But , with a sewer in mind as recipient, I made some changes and used the sewing machine and the buttons instead. It was probably a little trickier for the mask: the coffee mug is much less fiddly to cut out. But I managed not to cut off any of the knobs or extras, so I’m pleased with the result.

And then I used a few VersaMagic inks for the background, and Mementos for the buttons. I also had a go with 3D Pearl Effects. I’m not hugely sure about them: I got a couple from Hobbycraft a while ago, but I think I prefer to use ordinary gems. Perhaps I’ll get the hang of 3D Pearls, though.

Otherwise, a very simple and straightforward sort of card, all done on the card base and without needing any extra card.
