Having decided to make Christmas cards, I actually find the whole idea a bit exhausting. And, because of the sunshine and light evenings, I’m not feeling festive or inclined for snow.
It’s being trickier than I thought it would be to make Christmas cards so far in advance.
On the other hand, I have spent some time this month going through my small collection of magazines and their accompanying stamp and die sets to build a supplies list, and to find ideas. It did help, a bit, going through the magazines and sets. Especially my favourites from last year, two Creative Stamping sets, from issues 89 and 90.
So far, I’ve made two designs which have gone into my scrapbook, ready for when I can find the motivation to make the cards.
The stag used a stamp from issue 89’s Winter Stags by Stampendous, which I stamped in silver and heat-embossed. I discovered an unrelated stag die in my collection, which I cut in silver mirror card and stuck on with dimensionals.
The angel used stamps from issue 90’s Stained Glass Christmas by Daisy Mae Designs. I didn’t quite manage to line up the border stamp, though (another reason this is going into the scrapbook). I stamped the angel in grey, but I think for the cards I might heat-emboss in gold or silver.
