TWIC: A Solid Granny Square

The granny square this month is another relatively simple one. No. 73 from the book, it’s a solid square.

I’ve made it before – I’ve made an entire blanket out of large squares of this pattern – and I chose it to help me work out the pattern directions.

One of the things that was confusing me about the patterns is that they’re written in American crochet terms, so I have to start by translating them into British terms.

I’m still not sure if I understand some of the more complicated crochet stitches though. I might have to find demonstrations on YouTube to help with that. But I’ve decided that I need to make four of each square: one to try the pattern, two to practise with reference to the pattern, and a fourth to fix it in my head. With luck.
