TWIC: Ships and Anemones

modern anemones stamp set

In the last nine or so months since I took up paper-crafting, I have gathered a reasonable collection of stamp sets, mostly with matching dies or embossing folders. The majority have come from my monthly Simply Cards & Papercraft (SCP) magazine, although occasionally I pick up one of the others (because I particularly like the freebie), and sometimes by foraging in craft shops or online.

But, quite often and especially with the magazine sets, I look at them, use one or two stamps, and then file them away in my box.

They don’t get used as often as they could be because, well, my collection grows each month, or I just don’t feel like it. I’m just not inspired…

So while I’ve been thinking and reorganising my thoughts and posts, I’ve decided that what I need to do with each set, and as I get new ones, is to test-stamp each stamp, on a random piece of white card, so I can see how each stamp stamps. And then stick it in my scrapbook, with the name of the stamp set so I don’t forget.

Of course, I’ve got a lot of back-collections to play with, as well as keeping up with new ones, but it’ll keep me busy for a while. And maybe give me more inspiration for using them, in cards or otherwise.

This month, I have the Altenew Modern Anemones set, from SCP issue 200, and the Crafter’s Companion Signature Collections Nautical set, from SCP issue 207.
