When I was growing up, we didn’t get our Christmas tree until the weekend before Christmas. These days, it goes up a bit earlier.
If M had his way, it’d go up as soon as they come into stock. We compromise: I usually come home at the beginning of December to find one in place and decorated.
I generally prefer Advent to the day itself. It’s the build-up and the anticipation. All the little preparatory activities and decorations. The baking, the crafting, the planning. Not so much the shopping, though.
How ready are you?
I’m a bah-humbug person but I love seeing everyone’s decorations!

I think I’m just lazy – I like it when someone else sorts out the decorations.

I’m finished with the gift buying, the decorations are up and looking pretty, Christmas cards have been posted and passed on. The un-decorated parts of the house are a mess, I have tons of ironing and clothes to put away and my craft room looks like a tornado hit it, but, hey there’s still 4 days for me to sort it out! Oh, I still have a crocheted budgie to finish and a quilted cushion to make… Erm, can I have a few more days please!

Good luck with the final makes! I’ve got a bit of baking and wrapping to do, and then I’m done. I think.
