Reading Lists: October 2019

I’ve decided to change the title of one of my book lists. You see, as with most readers, I have a long, never-ending, always growing, To Be Read list. But what interests me more about readers is the list of books which they thought about reading; the books they picked up on a whim, and then they either put them down after a chapter or so, never to be finished, or they never started reading them and there they languish on the TBR pile.

So I’m changing my To Be Read list to a list of those I Considered Reading. I’ll make a note of those I start and never continue.

Recently Read:

Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys: the story of poor Bertha, the first Mrs Rochester

Shroud for a Nightingale, by PD James: murder in a nurse training hospital

The Foundling, by Georgette Heyer: a much put-upon Duke escapes his minders to try being plain Mr Dash of Nowhere in particular in Regency England

Considered Reading:

Six Against the Yard, ed. Agatha Christie: six Golden Age mystery writers pit their skills against an ex-CID man

Currently Reading:

Guards! Guards!, by Terry Pratchett
